110 Percent Myth

A rule with a number in it is a promise. 110 Percent Myth promises that if you respect the figure, the figure will respect you.

Strip away the number and the idea is this: life punishes vagueness. A figure forces you to say exactly how much, exactly when, exactly who. Once you have said it, the work is half done, because the argument is now with reality and not with your mood.

The idea is simple, and like most simple ideas it is easy to nod at and hard to use. The nod is free. The use costs attention, every day, in small change.

At the polling booth, the queue is the one place the CEO and the driver stand at the same height. Whatever else one says about it, that hour is a small miracle of design.

Society is a long conversation; the only question is whether you are listening or merely waiting to speak. A word is a lamp. This one is now yours to carry.
